On Sunday 29 April 2018, a group Experts from Germany visited ECO-IEST and held a meeting with IEST's team.
ECO-IEST: ECO Institute Environmental Science Technology (ECO-IEST), in collaboration with German environmental experts are planning to implement a project to enhance knowledge of management of protected areas, to strengthen participatory management, climate change adaptation and environmental education.
At the beginning of the meeting Dr. Fazel, President of the ECO Institute Environmental Science and Technology presented a short introduction to the ECO-IEST and a brief review on currents programmes. 

He noted, the German team has brought experiences from their activities in the ECO countries. During the meeting participants discussed in details of some opportunities in ECO Member States in particular, in Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Iran.

The meeting briefed the group about IEST project such as "Combating desertification with a special emphasis on dust haze and sand storm in the ECO region". 
The "Integrated protected area development to strengthen participatory management, climate change adaptation and environmental education" project which is going to be piloted in Iran under the GIZ support and Iranian Department of Environment (D0E) in Iran has the replication potential in other ECO Countries. 

It was agreed to develop add-on component to the currents proposal which enable the project to be implemented in other Member States subject to the availability of funds, which would be possible through fund raising efforts.

At the end of this meeting both sides expressed their hope for further, deepen and widen relationship in the widest range of environmental fields between two organisations.
