President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov had a meeting on Monday 3 September 2018 in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.
ECO-IEST: President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev on Monday 3 September 2018 in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, where Aliyev has arrived to participate in the summit of the presidents of Turkic-speaking nations.
Jeenbekov welcomed Aliyev in Issyk-Kul and said the country finds it very important to develop further the fraternal relations with Azerbaijan. He congratulated Aliyev on the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijani Democratic Republic.

Aliyev, for his part, thanked for inviting to Issyk-Kul, a "unique natural monument that pleases Kyrgyzstanis and everyone who comes here."

He pointed out the importance of the summit and congratulated Kyrgyzstan on hosting it.

"I attach great importance to cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and we intend to enlarge our cooperation in all fields: political, economic, transport," Aliyev said. 

He also invited Jeenbekov to visit Azerbaijan.They also discussed implementation of bilateral agreements. Jeenbekov invited Aliyev to pay a state visit to Kyrgyzstan.
